  • Don't forget bug spray ... that west nile is a bitch Last year they weren't that bad but I remember on that last day going up cadilac hill with all the "stops" they were just drilling left and right even through a thick coat of DEET!

Pack as light as possible! Remember, you will have to set up and break down camp each time, so the less you bring, the less you have to fart around with in the morning!
      Tools
Spares (That you know fit your Jeep!)
5 gallons of gas wouldnt hurt.
BUG SPRAY, the more DEET the better
      the usual food, beverage
      something to cook with

I know I'm forgetting stuff, someone help me, my brain no workie!

Get those rockers of the work bench and on the jeep. You will put some good use to them. Tow hooks in case you or someone around you gets hung up.

          • Well, I have to drop out. My girls' morning sickness is'nt getting any better at 8 weeks pregnant and the jeep is making a new noise that sounds like a loose bolt bouncing around in the bell housing. Could'nt I.D. it from the outside especially when it disappears for days at a time. Mostly it's my girl being sick. Bummer, I really wanted to make the trip but too many other factors poping up, just bad timing. Next time. With all the stuff I got at least my jeep will be more trail ready for the next one.

Big Bear sounds good. Yea Tom we'll be talking. I'll be alittle more ready for the bigger trails with all the new goodies I'm getting. I can't wait to put them to use with the rest of you guys. Thanx.

                    • ? Are barbeques allowed on the trail??
Also I think a full tank of gas should get me through OK?
I do not want to carry anthing I can't use or do not need.

We had campfires last year so I'm guessing it's ok. I can't find any campfire/bbq restrictions, just a phone number.

You'll need dinner for Friday night and Saturday night -- so if you can get thru two dinners on a full tank, I'd say you're doing great.

will areas be blocked off, or made easy, or more difficult?
sorry to horn in on your thread.
Stop by Wentworth on Saturday and help us out.

No, the trail won't be blocked, but we'll be working on water bars and erosion areas with crews, on Saturday, July 17. You can still get thru if you're going in Wenthworth route to Ellis Creek from the Wentworth campground.
We'll have the campground pretty full on Sat. am with our briefing and such, but we won't be in your way.
                                del
maybe it would be neat to help them out for a little bit. of course, i have no idea what area they're talking about, or even if we'll be there.
