Along with the brake fluid, extra brake lines.

It's looking like there is enough interest for separate runs on each weekend. Probably want to break up into two or more small groups anyway.

About 12 miles of the official trail. But it is a long way from anywhere on either end of the trail.

That would be a very long day and defeat the purpose of the trip. You really need at least two nights on the trail to really enjoy it. It never lets up so when you get tired you make mistakes and break things. Also the way out to Tahoe after Cadillac Hill is at least 8 more miles of gravel road. I think Buck the first night and then the Springs for a night is the great way to do it.

                            Mike,
The trail into and out of, what are they like? Dusy or Last Chance?

The trail in starts right at the Loon Lake camp ground - maybe a 1/2 mile of good gravel rd. before the start of the trail.
The road out from Cadillac hill is like Mike said - 8 or so mile of very rugged heavy gravel road - not difficult but very bumpy.
