Finally getting to these monster axles. For once, I buy a junk yard piece and it doesn't need a ton of work. I'll have this one stripped and ready to modify by next weekend. Going high steer, ram assist, three link. Let the fun begin.

Front D60 is all apart and getting naked. All the mounts will be gone by this weekend (working back and forth between Nicks CJ and these axles). Got the knuckles set up for milling. Gonna build Hi steer knuckles out of these ball joint knuckles. Makin the steering arms out of 1018 CR steel 1" thick.
Here is jig I made to fit the knuckle for milling

knocked the old, but still usable ball joints out

1/2" 2 flute end mill is working well for the top of the knuckle.

I'll get some better pics later in the milling operations.

Well have fun, just reading the list made me tired
What bolt pattern are the racelines? 8 on 6.5 or the later Ford pattern, which is different that most rear D60's and 14 bolts. If all else fails the unit bearing of a Dodge axle should give you the 8 on 6.5 bolt patternLast edited by aw12345; 03-06-14, 07:20 PM.

Ahole Fab gets a new (to me) Lincoln welder. This bad boy is saweeet! There's more than one way to get a 450 pound welder out of the back of the truck.

Its been sitting for a while and is a little grouchy right now but with some TLC we'll be makin sweet metal noises together. Five times the welder I did have. THANKS TRACY!Last edited by RAT; 05-24-14, 06:52 PM.Resistance Off Road

How's this for some sweet smog numbers? 86900 miles and still clean as the day she was born.

My 06 TJ with 130k miles passed with numbers WAY below the maximum, I guess the emissions equipment on these motors really do work well.Redneck Driveway Fab
