  • I love your jeep man. My goal is a streetable jeep that can still do the funest trails and I love the way you have pulled it off. I've spotted your rig a couple of times on the road so I have to ask how it went at the smog with the new tank? I know you said it passed easily with the stock tank back there, but i'd like something slick like a cell when the time comes and was wondering how to keep the state happy

I haven't had to test yet. Every other year right now. But I doubt ill have issues. Its installed with all the factory fittings and vents. I smogged twice with the stock tank mounted behind the seat with no issues.

      • The end begins...
The last of the upgrades for this build are beginning to materialize. Rear axle is here, front is on it's way soon. D60s both. The rear is getting discs (chevy parts). Front is ready to go. 5.13 r&p. ARBs will round out the centers. Gonna take a while cuz I am busy as a one-legged man... But the final phase has begun.

More pics as I have time to work on it.

I will be selling the fully loaded D44s after this is done. I'll list them when I'm ready to sell.

        • You missed out on some most awesome wheelin yesterday bud. Nice to see you go big boy Jeep all the way.
It's kinda nice to wheel without abandon, park it, take it out again and just go at it again without a worry in the world.
Best darn thing I have ever done

My axles have never been a weak point for me. It's been the transmission. that too will come to pass.

                    • Do you guys know how much your rigs weigh ? Horsepower to weight ratio has been a topic lately and I'm curious if you know how much weight your rig gains by throwing 60's under it.

I'm looking forward to watching you finish this monster up Kurt. Grow another leg or two and start kick some serious @$$
You can lead a horse to water, but it might drown

                      • I would think that whatever weight is gained would be outweighed by the added strength? Being able to hammer/bump harder when needed.

Kurt, what's the track width going to be? wider? or the same?

I have a rebuildable maglev hyperdrive and a compatible GDMPG I'll trade you straight across for the 60s. They're as-is, no guarantees, etc.
