Anybody have a recent update on the trail conditions of Holcomb Creek ? Just got off the phone with Loop Choke, guess they ran it two weeks ago and said its more difficult than JB with alot of washed out and off camber spots. I'm willing to try it if that what everyone wants to do. Also is anybody planning on camping or staying up there for the night ?

It has supposedly been fixed fixed by the club that adopted it, last I heard.

im gonna just be there from about 0800 till whenever, probably somewhere around 1600. I hope the trial is still washed out....i love off camber. Whichever trail is going to be most interesting is the one that i am for, just cant do anything stupid because of the kids...i dont have lockers anyways.

I love walking around larger events and looking for "cheese" in peoples safety equipment. Amazing where folks will try to save a buck, or generally just don't know. I've seen really outstanding bumpers, nice welds, great designs - held on with Home Depot grade galvanized fence hardware

                          Some common ones:

                          Cheap hardware
Chrome hooks (show me the certificate that says your hook is free from Hydrogen Embrittlement and we'll talk - maybe)
                          Hooks/hardware at odd angles
                          Towstraps with hooks
                          Chains tied in knots
                          Straps tied in knots
                          Shackles used incorrectly

Somewhere out there is the US Army's book on Vehicle Extraction - if I can find the link, I'll post it.

You should probably talk to Jeri-Lyn about not caring about rocker guards. She had first hand experience without them, and the frustration that goes with trying to undo the damage to get some to fit. Oh, and she did it in Big Bear.

Rockers also work very very very well with a High-Lift jack! Just a thought.
