    • Stocker run rating

I just found a nice description in a Trail Rating System that was referenced in a post for another run that would accurately apply to our Stocker run:

Speeds often under 10 mph. Street tires are acceptable. 2WD trucks NOT acceptable, due to lack of low range gears. No grades over 20 degrees.[/COLOR]

This will be a fun run!

        • Hello all. I just joined this forum and will be heading up just for the day on Sat. Just wondering if anyone will be leading a run that is not too easy but not too hard either. It's been about 3 years since I have been off roading. Need a warm up trail to get back into things. Oh I can't wait! How many jeeps usually show up to this event anyways?

This link is to the sign up roster. Right now we're at 50 members and a slew of guests. It's as big as it gets for MJR. Come on out. This is where I met this crew 6 years ago. Don't worry, we only bite for little while... welcome to the madness!

If you're on 33's, you'll do just fine out here. Come on out. Besides, the more YJ's out there the better. This has to be one of the best meet-n-greet type events. Look forward to meeting you.

              • Hey guys it's been a while for me since the last run......I think it was fun in the desert this last trip.

I will most likely show up late friday night or early saturday morning and just make a day trip out of it.

If you still need someone to head up odessa and duran I'm pretty sure i know the way around that place. I don't think I want to do gatekeeper yet but I can show the way

By the way.....I read that the stock rigs are going to hit up wall st.?? last time I went out there it was washed out and stockers would have a pretty nice time with that. just want to make sure.

There's two routes into Wall St. The way closest to Bismark Mine is not passable by stockers. The route by the stone cabin is passable by stockers, some may "rub" a little at one short section!

                  • Coming down for the carnage run, but thinking ahead to Friday. Is the route for the stock run written down somewhere so we could cruise it on our own the day before?

I found Russ Chung's description over in GPS mapping, but when I clicked on the files I got access denied. Not sure how to use those things anyway, but I could mess around with them. I also have the Wells SoCal guide, so at least can find my way around the major roads.

                    • Has anyone run the Doran Odessa loop since all of the rain? I am curious what the state of the trail is currently.

See you all there on Friday afternoon.

Myself, fred, art, kevin and baker0287(buggy). Ran it about 2wks after the hard rains, was in great shape, I was told the gatekeeper was filled in with a lot of silt/dirt from the rains. Im sure that in the 4wks since then that the trail has been excavated by tire spin again.
