What is the reccommended spare parts and tools list? And yes, I know that anything I bring will not be needed, it will be the one thing you leave at home :-)

spare axles, brake lines, fluids, food and drink, wag bags to crap in a roll of TP and something to put the crap filled wag bags into. (they stink)
      warm clothes and swim trunks.
pick a buddy that is going as to reduce redundant tools. it is nice to not have to carry 10 socket sets and 12 sets of wrenches.

The military will move you at their expense anywhere in the country when you retire.

Yes, but they'll only ship one vehicle. The CJ5 is being shipped, and the Liberty and YJ will be driven...and since gas has secretly snuck back up to $2/gal. Who knows by June...

But thanks...keep the enabling ideas coming!!

You will also get POV money + travel for you and your family.

By the way. Congrats on the retirement. I did it 12 years ago from the Navy.

Thanks for giving me and my family the right to live in a safe and free country.

Is there a official list of parts that should be brought with on the RUBICON? and will there be a prerubicon meeting to check out rigs and give pointers for those of us with minamal experience. I would hate to be the guy that throws a hitch in the gitty up.

Too difficult to have a pre meeting since people live all over the state and some out of state. You need to be locked in at least one axle, spare parts are your discetion. You need to remember that the nearest parts store is 4-5 hours away. If you aren't sure if your rig is capable, post your equipment on hear and we can tell you how you would do.

EDIT; I just saw you have a Rubicon on 35's, I would say you would be fine as is.

This trail is not the most difficult, the problem is that it is obstacle after obstacle. You will spend the complete time in 4 low.

I'll be there and possibly one other CJ5. Can't wait to sleep in that mountain air again!

                      Counting the days,

                      Gerald
