  • Cool, thanks for the info. I do like the idea of the mechanical version. Did you take out all of the original e brake stuff? I have mine half in, but I don't have the pedal and front part of the cable. I was debating on getting the parts to finish it, maybe this is a better solution.

    • I forgot all about these,Had one in my old 53'CJ and it worked great on hill sides and parking.

Its as much fun getting dirty as it is being dirty in a Jeep!

Jeep looks awesome Chuck! I know you'll be rolling before me now. I still have to take most of mine back apart for final welding, some grinding, and primer/paint. Where to test her, where where where...

I seem to recall you saying that Backdoor "Looks like a perfect trail to break mine in". Come on, you knew that wasn't going away didn't you?

Ditto my friend. I'm not sure about finishing before you. I still have a lot to do in the cab. Finish floor pan, mount seats, build center console, install shifters, install rear cross bar for harness, etc.

As for the break in run I'm going to do a couple of easy runs to break in the gears and then probably hit Bullfrog. Then when it’s 100 degrees I’ll take a trip to JV

I thought you were talking about the "other" back door... You know how you get around the camp fire.

                • Check a few more items off the build list. Seat mounts, seats, floor board, and harness are in.
Since I do not have a bender I had to get a little creative.

Now I need to build the center console.

                      • Chuck,

Looking good! I want to come over again but I think that was distracting. I learned quite a bit watching. Looking forward to the break in thing . I'm kicking it up a notch this Saturday, so that I will be ready for you after your break in runs!

                            • Finished the cockpit up today. Center console is complete. I’m very happy the way it came out. Everything is in reach while I’m fully strapped in. I used 3/4” square tube and .190 and .90 6061

The red handle is the line lock. Also ran some duct and installed some vents on the sides for the heater. Got to keep the wife happy. Look what I did for you honey.

Left on the list is engine skid, install driveshafts, program ECM, and various other small items. Should be on the road soon.
