Probably be helpful. I know there's a bunch of stuff off Stoddard Wells Rd back a ways behind the Slash X.

For those going I will be camping at the HDR area with some friends Fri and Sat nights. If you want to camp or stop by to say hi here's how you get there. Dry camping only (though I'll be bunking in a friend's motorhome).

From the Interstate 15 heading north through Barstow exit Barstow Rd/Highway 247 and turn right, drive approximately 5 miles from the 15 Frwy to Stoddard Wells Rd and turn right, follow it (stay on the main road, it will head off left up through the hills) for approximately 5 miles to the camp area in the valley over the hill. Just look for the woody. Hope to see you all there.

Anyone else camping-out up there besides Mike/MJR at the HDR site? Mike, that's a nasty drive with an RV. We were out there for HDR last year. Cool trails though.

There is easy access and plenty of open areas for camping at both Outlet Center Drive as well as the one before it, Hodge Road. Lots of bikes and ATV's.

We have been blown out the last two trips to the dez. Had to replace the RV windshield from our Thanksgiving run. It got sandblasted.

                Thanks!

Took the words right out my mouth. As long as the weather is decent I will be camping out.

I can bring a bunch of firewood, we'll tow the jeep up, can load it.

I was planning on going to the monster truck show afterwards but I am going to bring my camping gear just in case. Watching trucks driving over cars or driving your own jeep over rocks...... Tough choice

                            Hotel

I am pondering the idea of getting a hotel in Barstow (Motel 6) for the night.

Anyone interested in splitting the cost?

Warning, I snore and I am not a happy person in the morning until a few cups of coffee

That's the problem with camping with all the dirt bikers, dust!. Granted it's a long slow drive in an RV but the relative peace from the bikers blasting around in camp stirring up dust is much prefered.

I have also done the Motel 6 before at HDR and it was nice too.
