  • TJSupe is doing a ground reconnaissance of the center track of the hill. He is definitely thinking about attempting the center track of Gatekeeper Hill:

TJSupe is approaching the top of the hill along the center track:

But he is unable to get past a deep rut in the trail just before the top of the hill:

He finally had to back down the hill and climbed the right hand track. Notice the indentations in the center of the trail from his pumpkins:

There was one last hill to climb then we reached the junction with 2n33. Unfortunately, I was near the tail end of the group, so I didn’t get any pictures of the last hill. We returned to Silverwood Lake on 2n33, where we aired up and completed the day’s runs.

      Russ,
Great Trip Report...just one correction...The red Cherokee in this picture is actually Mike (XJRomper) from the Capo Valley 4 Wheelers club. If you recall, there were two XJ's, Mike, and the couple from Hemet.
      Good Job!:thumbs_up

My apologies to Mike (XJRomper) and to Jim and Ruth from Hemet for getting them mixed up. I didn't realize that there were TWO red XJs on the trail, and I was puzzled because Jim and Ruth didn't look like the type who would have an OutlawOffroad decal on their XJ.

          • Glad to hear everyone had fun! Sorry I missed it, but with the lower driver side control arm bracket being cracked I couldn't risk it.

Great photos Russ. The red XJ in the background is mine.
