    **update**

Yesterday when I came back to my Jeep at school, my ignition was torn apart and someone tried, yet again, to steal it. This is third time this has happened this year.

The ballzy thing is, I was in a big parking lot, and was parked right up against a busy street on campus. The douche bag also tried to take my jeep in btw 2pm-6pm in broad daylight.
The thing that really ticked me off, was not being able to get ahold of campus police. Tried calling there office twice to have them come down and make a report (just for shits and giggles). I emailed them last night, and got a response this morning. They assure me there was someone in the office at the time I called. we'll see how that ends

My friends say I should just start taking it as a compliment. All I know, is this shit is getting old.

That sucks man. Do you have any visible deterant like "The Club"? Not that it will deter all the theives, I'd think it'd at least cut down on the amatures :dunno: I think I still have an old one that I used in my pick-up truck when I was a teenager . . . I hardly ever locked it and would just hang it on the steering wheel . . . never had a problem. It's yours free if you want to give it a try . . . let me know if you'd like it and I'll look for it.
That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.

        thanks,

I just bought a new U-Lock for my bike and it would almost work for my jeep too. I have a grab handle in my upper left hand corner and I could almost lock that to the wheel. I mean they could take a hack saw to the steering wheel, but then they still cant move the vehicle.

I dunno, i think what I have right now is working pretty well.

How about a hard top? It couldn't make it any easier.

Invest in the AUTOLOCK. It also comes with a bright yellow steering wheel cover to inform the rat bastard that they will have a lot of work to do in steeling your Jeep. Your local Pep-Boys has them.

yeah, it sounds like somebody wants yer jeep, and if he has bragged to his buddies about it- and failed a few times, he might step up his game! I would do something serious to stop this asshole before you loose yer jeep!

wow.... thats not what I wanted to hear, but i kinda feel the same.
I mean, where I park at school and home would be VERY hard to get it on a flat bed. Thats my main concern.

                    ill search around.

You could add a brakeline lock so the Jeep will not budge even when they get it started

                      Look for a Micolock

when i lived in an apt, i went out of my way to get a detached garage. at my new home, i NEVER leave it out over night. i dont/wont even take my jeep to the mall/movies/store... anything.... anal, over protective insurance against dumb f#$#s who just steal. i recently had 2000 bucks worth of tools stolen from my work vehicle. i HAVE to park that stupid thing outside at night and that night i came home after a 15 hr shift and 6 of it was driving to and from vegas. i was tired and stuff was in the trunk. they broke in, got my gps, multimeter, and popped the trunk.. jackpot..... wish they took the whole damn car..

glad your jeep is still there. get a clutch lock and a shotgun!

A tried but duly true method and the cost is miniml, throw a piece of chain under the seat frame and thru the steering wheel, add a non chinese lock and you are good to go. cheap but effective,
