You've seen my secret kill-switch, right?

No, I’ll have to check it out.. I have seen lots of interesting kill switches at work. Coolest one I ever saw was in the ash tray. There were two contacts, one on the drawer and one on the dash. When you pulled the ash tray out just a little bit it would open the starter circuit. I messed with that one for an hour before I could get it started.

I don't worry too much about the TJ, but I'm scared to death someone will jack the Scrambler in a parking lot. It's SO easy to steal. I'm coming up with a couple of tricks to keep it from starting, but be real. If someone wants it bad enough, it's going to go.

Both Jeeps live in the garage full time when home...

If someone wants it bad enough, they're going to take it. Kill switch or not. Point is, I don't think a public "write-up" on a kill switch is going to make a difference one way or the other.

exactly my point. also doesnt really matter how you do it, if there is a switch hidden the purp still has to find it. Just gotta hide it well.

            better yet make TWO switches

No matter what you do if they want it bad enough they will take it. I got one of these which I think is a good deterrent. No wheel no steal.

Thieves are low life pieces of :poop: and if you make it hard enough they may do some damage but they will probably give up sooner or latter.
I have other deterrents but I won’t share those.
              Check out .

the steering wheel is a good idea, but I'm not taking a steering wheel with me to class or in with me to work. I already looked into one of those a little too difficult for a daily driver

I don't know you, Miguelito, but when I hear about that, I want to put hands on someone.

You know, there are different kinds of switches, some which are activated mechanically (click), some which are not...

                    Sidenote:
These days, you try to defend your property with deadly force, and you'll likely end up in prison. I don't agree with that, but that's the state of the police State. What our Jeeps represent to us--our hard work, our creativity, our individuality, our freedom--all that and much more will be stolen from us if we end up getting life in prison or wind up dead. That said, if I catch someone trying to steel my rig, they'd better hope and pray I can think clearly about the consequences before I seriously f*** them up.

X2 what a buch of crap, a baseball bat is too good for thieving the rat bastards and if the cops are not gonna protect my property why don't I have the right to? I do! I do have the right to protect my life and property! Jefferson would have said I had a duty to protect mine-and my neighbors!

                        Removable Steering Wheel

To follow on with Chuck's comment on removing the steering wheel, here is what I believe to be a far better system than the one he pointed out

                        http://www.getnrg.com/products/

The build quality is better, as is the mechanism and the centering characteristics. I know several folks that are using this on their Jeeps. A bit more expensive, but quite good.

Good find! Steering wheel and locking device is about $200? Not to bad at all.

steering wheel removal is great for a trailer queen. But not my daily driver. I am slowly learning my beach city area is not as safe as I thought. Friends have been jumped in allies etc.

anyway. I can only hope that the guys dont come back and try messing with my jeep again. Honestly I would love to catch the guys if they did it next time, but dont really have any weapon besides my own two hands.

Lets just hope they dont come back.

                            thanks guys
