How cool is that!? So, pictures I take I can get this info on. What about if I want to determine what settings someone else used? I have to ask huh? No biggie. I'll pass this on to Barb. Thanks again guys!

panda iexif2. Try this program, it allows you to view all of the info that is imbedded in most digital pictures by right clicking on the pic and clicking again on View Exif. When it won't get the info it usually is because of some post processing or the image has been scanned.

I just downloaded this and gave it a try... The only EXIF data it will give me is from my own pics.

I tried getting data from 3 pages of images posted by others in this thread, and get nothing.

My Exif data is available on my SmugMug page. Just hover on the images and click the info icon.

Exif data is removed by a lot of software. Most any software that resizes, samples down the images, etc. will remove exif data except for high-end software like photoshop.

Also, most web server software I've seen will remove exif data when messing up your images as well. For example, when using PHP & GD libraries, the only way to save the exif data when altering a picture is a custom solution using P.E.L. (PHP Exif Library) which will save all Exif fields, and save them onto the altered image. I had to do this for one project, and will now do this for all things I write for myself to save the valuable exif data.

That is one of the reasons I'm a stickler about keeping "originals" and hate wizard-like things like the "microsoft picture & scanner copier" crap. Who knows what things are doing to your files in the background? (I do, and I want the original data!)
