        • Doug,
Looks like a good trip. I grew up in El Paso, and spend a lot of time around Carlsbad. There is another cave system close by called Lechagilla, but it was closed to the general public a long time ago (late 80's)due to the fragile nature of the crystal formations that are only found in that cave system. You have to be a scientistor expert to get in there now. When I was growing up we could still get in there. It's amazing. So what did you think of EP? Great place to drive through, huh?

The moon was huge this morning. It would have been a awesome shot. I wish I had my camera. Nice picture

I use manual setting, and adjust the shutter speed as needed. The settings for this shot was: 1/125 shutter speed, F8.0 aperture, and 100 ISO speed. If you let the camera pick the exposure, it will be just a round light. Keep the ISO speed down, I don't think the aperture matters(I picked where the lens is sharpest), and adjust the shutter speed as needed. I then post process in photoshop CS3. It didn't turn out as well as some of my other moon pictures, but oh well.
