  • Dusy and the Courtright Reservoir

    had a job today up in Shaver Lake area and got to run over to the Dusy trail head before coming home. Sweet!












    It snowed on me while I was there. Nice...

            • Just a note, Zion is very cool in the fall with the foliage colors and hardly any people. We pass through on our way hunting in Utah and Colorado in October.

                  Fireworks are tricky. Check the settings on your camera. I would be surprised if it didn't have a setting for fireworks. Most digitals do. If not put the camera in manual mode, use a small aperture number(large opening) and then set a slow shutter speed. You will need to experiment with the speed but I think 1/60 would be a good starting point.
                  Oh yea....don't forget a tripod!!

                    Here's some basic settings for you:
                    -Tripod
                    -time exposure: 2-4 seconds
                    -aperture: f/8 - f/16
                    -IOS: 100-500

                              • Went back packing out of Devil's Postpile by Mammoth this last weekend. Went to Rosalie Lake. We were supposed to do alot more, but one of the guy's that went, his knee was giving out on him. So we stayed a little longer at Rosalie Lake and went back. It was a nice three day trip. Here's some pictures from the point n shoot camera.
