  • We spend a good hour trying to remove the windshield. We used knives, hammers, chisels, wire, pretty much anything Jonah and Tom could think of to try and get the seal cut and the glass out. A sharp knife worked best. I just found a new windshield in frame and a hood in Hemet for $150.00 Any of you close with a pick up? I don't wanna let these get away!!

Yes, I chose to try that obstacle on my own. I saw the rock and thought it would be tough but fun and doable. I was too far passenger on the rock ledge/wall. I should have stopped and asked for a spot, however it felt ok until it was just too late. We were having a great day and the YJ was crawling all over everywhere so I was getting confident... too confident... I have been humbled. If I would have gone more driver to start there was a line there. However, I agree and think I have found the limits to my current suspension set-up.

    • I would concur you found the limit of the Jeep's abilities for the time being. Pay for the parts or send him a deposit. ThenSomebody in that neck of the woods can pick it up. Or pm me

        • If there are any folks out in that neck of the woods, windshield should fit in that fancy Gaab

            • I'm about an hour from Hemet, but I could hit it on the way to Ontario.

              • That be cool, since Brothers would most likely do the fixing

                • It will be a few more days before I can make it. If that works, I'll run it up there.

                  • Looks like some cage work won't hurt either.

                        • Luckily I had a great month at work

A gentleman in Hemet is building a Jeepster. He is going to be using the frame of the YJ so he is trying to get rid of everything else. He is home after 6-7 on weekdays or he is home this Saturday. Curtis I may take you up on that offer. For $150 I am all over it and he is a nice guy. I am going to try to paypal him tonight. I can meet you there Sat, and we pick up the parts and take them directly to Brother's. They have left over paint from last time In and Out Burger double doubles and gas on me

The best part is that literally almost everything still worked fine. Even my stero I just put in and mounted to the roll cage works. I am sooo happy I put in the eye bolts last month after watching Sergio do a back flip/flop. I had my tool box and ARB fridge ratchet strapped down so they didn't go flying on the flip. I think buying a new fridge is going to cost me more than everything else to get her back up and running.

I purchased a new Rampage Soft top today from amazon.com. Hardware, top, tinted windows, everything for $400.00. My top was starting to get tattered with ripped stitching, etc. I was going to try to have it make another year.

Josh from Leadfoot will have some fun putting the rack he fabbed back together. Between Parker and a rock wall before flop I pretty much mangled that rack. It doesn't like rock walls for some reason:dunno:

I truly hope the sport cage isn't tweaked too badly. Not because of the cost of a new cage, but I don't want to have to make more LED light strips for the interior again. That was a long tedious project that I am sure Jonah doesn't want to help me with again any time soon

                          replacement parts thus far:
hood and windshield frame and glass: $150
                          cowl seal: $30
                          bug deflector: $40
mirrors: $40 (was missing one anyway)
                          soft top: $400
labor to put humpdy dumpty back together again
paint: ?? (shouldn't be too much since the painter just painted this stuff a few weeks ago.

IF the cage is "ok" that will be a big sigh of relief... lets have some fun!

                          • Well if it's all back together again, lets go do this in early June.

Ya wanted to go to Moab right? have saved the day
By the way stomping on the throttle when the back end came up might have saved the day

                            • When I asked to see your suspension setup a bit closer, I think you took it a little too serious. Glad you're okay.
