  • A few of you helped me realize I didn't have much uptravel in my rear suspension during this trip. I spent some time under my YJ last night... just staring at the rear suspension. Yes, I only have about 1.5" of up travel before the bumps are compressed. I have about 4-5" of space above the rear truss for the axle to move up. The shocks only have about 2-3" of up travel before they are fully compressed. It looks like the best solution for my lil YJ is to notch the frame and add shock towers and outboard the shocks, cut the frame and install the bump stop holder brackets into the frame itself. If I go that far should I just keep going and remove the coil springs and go with king Coilover reservoirs and be done with it? I should have probably just done this last year when we did the stretch in the first place... thoughts??

I don't want to hyjack this thread... please respond in my fab thread... Thanks... and I promise my pics and videos will be online tonight!

I have a 2" stretch on front and back by using flipped wagoneer springs. So my current wheelbase is 98".

      • Okay, here's another video of the fun we had. This is the Rio Lobo trail. I think that this and Truman are my two favorites so far.
Thanks Cliff for letting me steal your pics and vids. I wouldn't have enough to work with if I only used my stuff. When are you going to try your hand at Movie Making?

          • Guess we have some more options than just Cougar Buttes, and the Hammers this fall. I am up for a redo of Parker and some Havasu exploring

            • Yea we need to get you on the buggy trails. Also you and fred need to do the center line up the launch pad.

BTW, I found a quick path to the bottom of the Launch Pad from our campsite. So if that is all you want to run, you don't have to go through all of President's Choice, but then again, why short-change yourself....

Well if Freddy and me make it will you guys follow? we will hook your winch line to the front axle so your nose won't come up

                    • I was lucky to not flip on that waterfall on “The Duke”. I won’t try the middle Launch Pad line again (even if you and Freddie lead the way). But I will follow you just about any other place up there, it was a great place to spend a couple days.
