Me, my wife and our 3 year old just got back from High Desert. It was a blast, and we felt so welcome by the MJR'ers there. Roger was the sightseeing leader, Jason shepherded us into camp, Scott loaned me 5 gallons of gas and we had 6 or 8 other vehicles in camp (sorry, didn't get everyone's names - yes I failed the test).

It was windy and cold (yes cold, and windy) the first couple of days, but Sunday was really nice. We just went on the easier runs for my wife (and my CJ's) first time 4-wheeling. Hey . . . it worked - she's ready to do it again (both my wife and the CJ!) Here are a couple of pictures.

It was nice to meet Roger, Jason, Scott, & Dan at High Desert Round-Up. My chosen trail was Hammer Down and it sure wreaked havoc with a lot of rigs. I believe the final carnage count was a flop-over, 2 front axles, a rear axle, a u-joint, a leaf spring mount and countless winch pulls. We started off the run with 24 vehicles and only @10-11 completed the full trail. What a great day in the desert!

I spend most of my money on four-wheeling, the rest I just waste.

That one is supposed to go like so.

I hope the flop didn't to much damage. Hammerdown has some fun spots

Other than the wind on Friday, it was a picture perfect weekend. Meet some new MJR people and would hang out with them anytime. We had on attendee win at the raffle. Twice at that. And of course I forgot his name. Started with a J I think. He was one of the people the Wicked XJ came with. Gawd I'm terrible with names. I didn't take any pictures because I was just soaking up the scenery out there just cruising around the desert.

When I get done with my transmission swap I will be ready for some new challenges.

I think this is how my new shifter will look.

radesigns. It's so I can shift my AW4 trans manually and hold it in first gear.
