That's more like it! Will it put out carbonmonoxide like a bbq or it is meant for confined spaces? So you joining us in Calico Shadley?

I think that is for more of a chair position heater. they make one that sits at an angle as well.

I guess they all do a similiar job. I just dont wanna come running out of my tent on fire.

That shit will kill you. It puts out carbon monoxide like my propane grill. Just stock to your blanket, sleeping bag and a few comfortable plush layers of clothing will do the trick.

I'll see you on Friday Josh. I'll be there in the afternoon before it get's dark so I can set up my tent. If I take the same road we use to get to Odessa Canyon, where abouts is the camp site exactly? I don't know where gatekeeper is. Does anyone have a map of the camp site?

I've never seen gatekeeper but my thoughts are that the videos I just watched don;t do it justice; I need to see it in person. I won;t be climbing it though.....Don't worry Josh I'll spot ya!

wangobango is correct. I just hope Josh doesn;t play with his firearm in his tent while that thing is on. Not that carbon momoxide will catch on fire...but rather

Josh (or any person) + carbon monoxide in a confined area + firearm =

It's a catalyst heater. No open flame but there are fumes. No tent that I know of is airtight. In fact, mine has a gaping hole in the top covered in screen mesh. Besides... fumes will help you fall asleep

just my :2: but I have tried these 'tent' heaters, and they don't do much, mainly because the tents are so open and don't insulate at all. heat rises, so it is all going out the top and drawing cold air in thru the tent. I think if you have the heavy canvas type tent without the open vent top it might do something for you.

What time will Saturday's activities commence?
Where is the meet point for Saturday.

Here are a couple of pics of the gate keeper, taken about a month ago. This gives a nice reference of the height of the first obstacle
This guy is about 6'4" or so

I use my backpackers trick to stay warm. About an hour before you crawl in the sleeping bag for the night break two or three small hand warmer packs and toss 'em in. Whne you climb in you're nice and warm and they last all night. I usually wind up taking them out after a while. Target sells them in packs of 4 for $2.99 ea.

Good sleeping bag does wonders for staying warm, talking the other half into sliding in the sleeping bag first helps also

3 bucks . . . now that's more like it . . . and no risk of death or brain damage is a plus. Might have to see if I can stop by and pick some up.
