    • Day Trip To Joshua Tree

Did a quick run to Joshua Tree on New Year's Day. Weather was nice and clear. Did some shooting outside Berdoo Canyon, then went into the Park to Squaw Tank, and eventually out the north gate into Yucca Valley.

My son can't throw a clay to save his life, so I figured out a way to sling the clays myself, and then shoot them: (note the number of pieces)

Varied a bit with time of day and elevation. Lunch & shooting at Berdoo Camp was probably 48 or 50 degrees, no wind, full sun, quite nice. By the time we hit Squaw Tank in later afternoon it was probably 38 degrees with a lot of cloud cover and slight breeze. Felt pretty cold. There was a lot of ice over top the water in the tank behind the dam wall, but not thick enough for the larger dogs (or my kids) to walk on without cracking it. When we aired up at the pavement end of Geology Road it was 42, then dropped as the sun went down as we headed into Yucca Valley for dinner.

I took this up on Cleghorn ridge. I didn't have my T1i, just a powershot 100sx, but it still takes pretty nice shots.

New York (pretty cool, and some innovative techniques used)

Awesome footage of Death valley, Inyo's, Bristlecones, Mono Lake and White Mountains. I count myself blessed to recognize many of the areas shown in this one:

It was a hell of a show. It was an anniversary show for Social D as well as House Of Blues Anaheim, so they really left it all on the stage.

Nice pic Rat. I love the mood that a black and white photo delivers. Color is great but B&W always has the most impact.
