        Old Blue Jeep Is Alive

Yeah almost 2 yr's.Ok long story short,I was broken,Jeep was broke, and so was my wallet,oh yeah and 3 Son's who want to drive$$$.Got it out last weekend and it feels great.Didn't play to rough cause only had a couple FS 4x4's with me and it still feels like I'm in the clouds and I'm nervous up there. The meanest thing I did was go up warmup rock and down box canyon,no the FS's didn't follow down there.

My Son Ron and his 1'st Jeep and 1'st time out.He blew a side wall at bullfrog trail head.

        and Buddys Blazer on warmup

        Still need full-cage,better steer-gear,shackels,and................................. ................

Wish I could've made it out there Dennis. I didn't get done working on my Jeep until noon Saturday. Afternoon I went over to the Devils Hole trailhead and went up and down that long hill a few times to see how she flexed in those ruts. Wasn't the shakedown run I wanted but it'll hold me over.

I finally got to add a cage to my old Blue Jeep.

I found a shop here in Apple Valley, Revolution Vehicle Dynamics rvdav11111.webs.com, That had great service, prices, and had it done quick. Oh yeah did I mention they are right down the street from me
I mounted my new wheels on, Thanks Steve (alittleoff), to see what it looked and feeled like with 35's.I'm trying to decide between 33's or 35's for my new set.

It's on 34" TSL Swampers in top pic.

An XJ will always cost you less then any girl ever will, and you will always know when the spark is gone.

After fixing 1 vacuum leak only to have another pop up, I took it in and had a shop replace the intake and exhaust man. gaskets and it ran great, then take it to get it to pass smog and have the idle go to shit (another vac.leak) I was ready to green sticker it, or just pay up and do it right.

Hope and Change.Took 5 long days to get here. :present:

                            Goodies layed out

The before with the pile a crap OEM

Last look at that damn carb

                            Carb gone and hoses pulled

                            First blood

Therm.switch, O2 sensor, and TBI adapter on

Vacuum manifold and the rest of the hoses GONE! Now I have a place to put my beer

                            TBI on

                            To be continued, SOON :wrench:

This Howell is fun to install eh, doesn't come cheap though. You do know that it might take some tweeking though, to get it right.
Friend of mine installed one of those and took some tweeking to get it to run right and to pass smog. In the end he ended up being a very happy camper with it though

Your right Art, not cheap.I put so much in the BS smog crap only to have another problem pop up, at least this will save time and stress in the long run.Wish I could a went with a XJ 4.0 swap but that would a cost a lot more. I figured that it wouldn't be a bolt and go project but after 3 different carbs, vacuum valves, switches, and replacing all the hoses, I'm ready for a little tweeking. lol
