  • I know there has been a lot of complaining about Ballistic Fab on other forums but I would like give a shout out on here since I used several of their brackets, joint, and various other items from them during my build. I'm in the process of doing some maintenance to my Jeep and today I called to get some rebuild kits for my Ballistic Joints. I was just going to order the fronts and when I told them I had the original ones with the delrin style races they immediately offered to give me 1/2 off the price. Awesome, I'll take the rears as well. I have already received my invoice, shipping confirmation and should have them by the weekend. :thumbs_up Great experience.

I have not experienced the issues others have complained about and think they are a great fab company with some great products.:2:

    • Good to hear. I've had good experiences with them too. I take it you had already used your free replacement to get your solid Nylatron races?

Ballistic has screwed up in the past, and from what I can tell, done their very best to get their game together, but people should consider who they're dealing with. They're not Summit or Jeg's or Poly Performance (who all have mind-blowing order fulfillment, but that's really all they do). They're a small manufacturer and military contractor who sells stuff internationally and online to the public. They could have just had a huge order come in and their website isn't updated. They might be going full steam trying to fulfill contract obligations, and your order has to fall by the wayside. If it's so crucial you're gonna blow a gasket or even miss a wheeling trip, don't assume. If you're used to dealing with industry on a professional level, you do your diligence and check availability and lead-time. They make stuff in the U.S. of frickin A. with American-made steel and sell it at competitive, even sometimes dirt cheap prices, for crying out loud. $.99/ pair shock tabs. God bless them!

I think this is why I really had no issues with them. Before I placed my orders I would call and ask if the piece was in stock and if not what was the lead time. If it didn't fit my schedule I went else where. Pretty simple concept.

                • Some people have had a fairly good customer experience with them and then more than a few have had a far less than stellar customer experience. As they say your milage may vary. They will never get another one of my hard earned pennies though

                  • Well, I've finally had enough of the 14 bolt pig dragging across every rock so it's time for the full shave. Going to stay with the Ballistic stuff so I can tie it in to my truss.

                    • Curious how it's going to work for ya. Might have to follow you on that if it works well. So far I pretty much learned to drag it around rocks

                      • Art, there are cheaper ones out there if your going to do it. http://www.tmrcustoms.com/store/inde...oducts_id=1286

I need to tie the cover into my truss and Ballistic sells a diff cover already shaved and extended truss mount for there kit. It's just not shown on the site.

                        I have this truss.

That looks like my truss sans the fancy tie in. Gonna have to make one of those some day. Thing is though I have done almost 4 years of pretty hard wheelin without problems. Biggest detractor is that it compromises diff housing strength. The housing is pretty thin except for the big castin part of the back of the housing. You cut that you loose a lot of strength in the housing. That is really hard to replace or gusset unless you make a truss for the bottom of the housing which would defeat what you just did. About the only other thing you could do is make a girdle on the back of the housing that ties the diff cover to the axle tubes. That seems to help, did that on my front cover and seems to resolve the issues in the front that I have been having.
