If you are referring to my post I was agreeing with Dirtball's suggestion on the Warn sliders.

Yes you can use as a jacking point and the plate goes under the Jeep at least 4”.

You can't go wrong with Savvy either. Great products.

I had Sun (Which are pretty much the same as Warn) prior to putting on rockers that have underbody coverage.

This is what they looked like after I took them off:

It needs to go further under to spread out the downforce.

If you can afford it, get wheel well to wheel well and sill to frame (or nearly frame) coverage, youll be happy you did.

The rockers I now run are Rock-itMan's, (who is now out of business unfortunately). However the design is being sold by Jeeperman. Other manufacturers make a similar design now as well.

Careful with tying them into your frame, as you dont want any of those forces being transferred to you frame.

Theres an awesome thread on another forum YEARS AGO that goes into great detail about frame vs body mounted, if I can find it, Ill post it up. It is the end all be all thread on this topic, and right around the time Rock-itman came out with his rockers.

Tam, my Warn's look nothing like these. Maybe they changed their design.

Maybe who knows. I still tossing around which sliders to get, for a daily driver and mild offroading. Time will tell. Maybe I need more money first.

im not sure on weight on mine, but i just saw today that barnes4wd is now making sliders that look identical to the ones i made myself. even same material thickness, and mounting locations. only difference is that i added small tube step/slider near the door.

                    their retail price is 300

here is a link to their stats....

fyi, if you have the tools to make yourself(welder, cutting utensil), it only cost me ~90 in steel/bolts to make mine

I will check it out. I guess I better not worry about the wieght issue and look more at its protection ability. I mean thats what they are for right.

I have slammed the living CRAP out of my "rock-it man" (jeeperman) rockers a handful of times. One time in particular on an AAT work day when I made everybody turn their heads. No damage to the rockers, no damage to the Jeep. They are body mounted and I swear by them!

I'm not familiar with those ones. It's been a long time since I've researched them. Basically what you're looking for is body mounted, sandwich plate on the inside of the tub, wheel well to wheel well, and probably a couple other features I'm forgetting.

So you are saying you prefer and recomend the body mount over the frame mount?

I have the Body Armor sliders. They bolt onto the 3 body mounts on each side. I modified mine because I have a 1 inch body lift. I notched the 3 arms and bent them and re-welded them so that they fit right against my stock Rubicon sliders. When I land on the slider it disperses the impact across the Rubicon sliders. They also look like they will protect the body mounts and provide a slight boatside.

My buddy has them without modification. he came down on them hard enough to dent the slider with no damage to body.

They are not the best, but they are cheaper and do provide some protection, without drilling more holes in the tub.
