    I will arrive at base camp sometime on Friday.
    I hope to get up their early to get a good spot.
    Or you and the rats can save me a spot for my camper.

                Jeep is all ready. Locked in the front, LSD in the rear, rock sliders and diff skids. Can't wait.

                  Last year, we got up there after dark and drove past the turnoff three times before we finally called Al Spires (Igofshn) to get directions to the base camp. I now have the coordinates stored in my GPS, but for the sake of others, could you stick some reflective tape on the signs?

                      As a side note, there is a fire at the bottom of the 4 lanes right now. Hopefully they will have it out before the weekend.

                        The fire is out, the cause,a truck was rinding his brakes and nuked his rotors.

                        Also, its RAINING woo hoo. But lightning is poping.........hope there's no more fires.

                          I also saw the info about the fires.

                          Forest Service has increased the fire restrictions below 6000 feet.
                          But even above 6000 feet, it is like kindling out there. This little bit of rain we are getting will do very little to help the extremely dry forest.
                          So, we will have to be careful, and I ask that everyone carry some extra water with them.
                          If you have a shovel, please bring it also.
                          I will have 5 gallons of water in my jeep for the trip into Swamp. This is going to be in one of those 5 gallon blue water jugs.
