has an official run been organized? I may be up for an easy/moderate day run this weekend but just need to know where to crash the party in case I decide to show up
Did Miller and thought that was pretty darn easy. I Usually play up at Hollister in Norcal.
Rowher is easier than Miller and Hollister. I moved down here from the Bay Area 2-1/2 years ago and spent a lot of weekends in Hollister Hills while up north. This should be a good testing trail. Nothing too hairy.

off camber and really steep hills definitely give me serious white knuckles, and I'll have to say that rowher had me on the edge of my seat for much longer than miller ever did, even through the downhill rock shelf before the stream crossing of miller. part of it is due to the fact that rowher rides along narrow, steep ridges and the uphill climb at bouquet canyon is enough to roll you if you're not careful. i guess it just depends on how you react to the vehicle and what you consider "hairy"...
although i'd still rate rowher an easier trail as it's not that long and you have fairly easy exit options with the fire road running through the middle.
So is this group splitting between sat & sun? It's turnig out I can't go sat but sure on sunday. I say we meet at the Dennys off the 14 and Sand cyn around 730-8am, maybe eat a little breakfast, then head out.

I think Sunday is fine. I'm coming from LAX, so 730am is a little early for me. Maybe I can join ya all before you leave from breakfast. Sounds good guys, I'm excited.

woah, no. its totally fine. I think breakfast is a great idea, and I'm glad someone more familiar with the area is helping out. I'm totally grateful. I'm wondering if we should setup two times, one for breakfast, and one for the trailhead? I'll go off what you guys think, I just started a thread about this weekend, you guys all know much more than I and have made this trip what it is. I'm actually pretty flexible now, some guys that were supposed to tag along, can't now.
I really appreciate all the help, I'm excited to go wheeling, and meet new people.
Do cellphones work at all in the area? I'm assuming the Denny's is right off the HWY and I'll see a sign. Anything else I should know? Thanks again everyone.

Dennys is right at the Sand cyn exit, can't miss it. I've been up there a few times but have'nt been in a while. Figure eat at 8am, head out 930-10 just in case any late straglers did'nt hear there alarm clocks.
It's a fairly docile trail by my standards, yes some steep inclines but I've been up there with lots of stockers. Rain would make it fun I think. Don't think we'd make it up the Bouquet side in the rain, tried it once and only 2 locked jeeps made it, the others had to take the bypass. I think coming up front the sierra hwy side is funner any way. Just my :2:
