Yeah, the 138 is open from SC to the 15.

Well, I was on the 138 between Palmdale and San Berdu on Saturday. Apparently the road is going to be closed for a while, so you need to find another way over. I wound up going through Wrightwood but that is kind of the long way. Sierra Hwy might work, or surface streets through from littlerock to Victorville. I talked to some locals who said the road is closed intermittently. Thats the latest.

Meet at the Hwy. 138 exit off Interstate 15 (Cajon Pass). Meet at Mickey D's 6-630A for breakfast. Cleghorn trail head is one exit south of the 138 exit. There are petrol stations for a final top off. Hit the trail head at 7-730A. Gonna be HOT! Be prepared.

Take the 14 from Palmdale to Victorville, which will turn into Palmdale Road in VV, which will put you right at the 15-head south. Then you are about 15 minutes from the Cleghorn Exit.
