  • I would be more than happy to share my camp ground with you Desert Valdez, but unfortunately I am on the same boat as you, I registered to sign up for the meet-n-greet but it seems like all the camp grounds are taken....

if anyone can share their camp grounds for Desert Valdez and THEN me, I would be more than happy to pay my share for everything

also is there a lake around the campsite? I would love to go swimming / fishing while you guys tackle the hard trails...

    • Not sure you guys are interested but, 3N08 is relatively close to Hanna Flats. This is an easy road that has a yellow sign campground about halfway up the trail on the left (west) side of the trail. There are also a couple of smaller sites off the trail. Maybe a good option?

I was hoping to come in on Friday night but I think that early Saturday looks much better. Anyone want to caravan up together? 210/I-15? I-15 and Sierra Avenue? Waterman/Hwy 18?

Just a thought...Let me know what works best if interested.

Oh by the way, not like any of us cross the double yellow, or speed on the downhill portions of the highway, etc. CHP has been really active in several cars writting cites, especially near the Big Bear dam. Heads up! Just a friendly warning!!!

We'll be leaving Moorpark around 5:30 Saturday morning. That will put us in your area around 6:30 am. If thats works for you, let me know.

I think he's talking about a "yellow post" site. (?) I think you have call the ranger station to get reservations for that. Someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong on this.

It's not looking good for the Barbara and I. The YJ has sprung an ATF leak and I've had no time to even look at it to see what's the problem. I'll head out after breakfast and crawl under it to see what's up.

                  • No reservations for a yellow post, they're first come, first serve. So, just out of curiosity, who actually did get a campsite at Hanna?

                      • I didn't, I'm staying at my uncle's place, but I'm wondering about dinner still... We might eat with them, or we might try to hang out with you fellow Jeepers for a while before we go back. From the sounds of it, there might not be any extra room for another rig.

Also, do you need an adventure pass if you're not camping? just to go on the trails? If so, I won't get there saturday morning 'till close to 9 as the discovery center doesn't open until 8:30...
If we aren't supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

ok call me whimp.......... (not wanting to camp out under the stars).

Besides, been there done that. Had tent, then trailer, then cabover camper, now timeshares and motels.
