I plan on arriving at the campsite mid-day Thursday.
Chuck - where is your recommended campsite exactly? Since it sounds like that's agrees with our fearless leader.
John (Nip-twist) Looks like camping will be where Chuck suggested.
TripsEZ - sounds good - Thursday it is.
Who all will be coming Thursday besides tripsEZ and me?

        Check out .

Use caution with gas at the Blu-In, I've seen them run out.
How many little drips are in a quart?

              George,
Actually I thought this was going to be a small group (spelled 2 rigs) so I was planning on remote camping. But since there is such a big group gathering Ocotillo looks like the best place for us to be. It will be nice to have a large MJR group there.

I'd like to join the party!! I suggest that we leave the Pinyon Mountain Trail until next year (on 1/1/2011). The reason is that with a large group and a late morning start, it would be dark before we get to Sandstone Canyon. Sunset will be at 4:47 pm PST, and there won't be any moonlight on New Year's Eve. On Friday, I suggest that we set up camp, then explore Ocotillo Wells SVRA. We can go to the Slot, Blow Sand Hill, Devils Slide, Pumpkin Patch, Fonts Point and possibly end up at the Italian Restaurant in Borrego Springs before heading back to camp. We can run Pinyon Mountain and Sandstone Canyon on New Year's Day. Then on Sunday anyone who has a rig that's still running can explore Lower Coyote Canyon or go to the Calcite Mine and Truckhaven before we break camp to head home.
If you don't like the way I drive, stay out of the bushes!

I should be at the camp Thursday afternoon early. I'll be driving back from Seattle and will most likely go straight to Ocotillo.

Friday while empting an old book case, I came across this book I bought in 1974. It was published in 1963 and is loaded with great information:

I'll be re-reading it over the next couple of weeks. I'll bet there's going to be some stuff in there that's now closed off
