  • Trail Report: Another Rubicon run

Myself, Mike and Sharon and her mom Louise, Chuck and Alicia, Stuart and Sergio made a run to the "Con". None of them had been there but myself and Stewart so it was fun to see the expressions on the faces of everyone. It was hot and dusty, but still a lot of fun. The lakes were cool and clear, the food and the company ROCKED! My camera conked out on the first day, then miraculously came back to life on the final day. Go figure. There is video coming and know there were lots of pics taken. Here are a few of my favorites:
    Are we leaving soon?

    More CON...

Louise came all the way from Gawgia to do the Con with us. I don't think she was ready for what the West has to offer. But she was a real trooper, and even put up with the fire side talk at night!

    Are you going down THAT???

    Uhhh-Huh!

I don't need no stinking GPS, I have the MAP!

He was chasing us across the rocks. I guess we were somewhere we should'nt have been...

        Over look group pic

Stopped by Mono Lake before parting ways with the MJR bunch and heading to Bishop to go fishing with an old freind.

Morning at the fishing hole... Shhhhhhh, I'm fishing here

This was another trip to remember, with good freinds and beautiful places. Thanks to all that went, and to all the others who left the place as they found it.

Wow. What a great trip. We went in on Sunday and came out on Tuesday. I took over 300 pictures unfortunately or fortunately only about 5 have Jeeps in them. I did however get over 2 hours of video and I'm putting the finishing touches on a 40 min video now. Thank you all. As always the best group to run with. Here are some of my favorites.

          Buck Island

          Rubicon Springs

          Observation Point

395 on the way to Mono Lake

          Carnage on the asphalt

At Mono Lake we had a storm roll in that made for some great shots.

Not sure how I took this but I like it.

Here are some others. Video coming soon.

Some of my pics (Pt. 1)

What a great trip! The Rubicon is a tough run... far tougher than my mother-in-law was expecting! But then again, Holcomb Valley is tougher than she was ready for!

Here are some of my favorite pics:

                    Chuck near the beginning:

                    Chuck playing with gravity:

                    The Granite Bowl:

                    Stuart playing with gravity:

                    It's only a 3 foot drop?:

How'd that rock get in the way?:

                    A boy and his dog:

                    Stuart taking the hard line:

Louise "tapped out" on this one:

                    Chuck on the tough line:

                    Louise "Taps Out" again:

                    Stuart Rocks!:

Is it deep? Well, compare it to the fact that this Jeep is rolling 40's!:

On the way to Buck Island Lake:

                    Buck Island Lake at Twilight:

I have finally stopped drinking for good.
Now I drink for evil.....
