32" MTs and he still could not climb the hill.

We hit some 30" to 36" drifts farther up the trail. Even the rigs that had chains on all 4 tires got stuck.

      Sometimes the snow wins.
That is something that I should break down and purchase---chains. Does Pep Boys or someplace like that have chains for 33" tires????

I'm thinking that those chains might have to be special order...

you think we need chains for this? maybe just shovels?

I am all kinda interested in this run, I'm waitin' on a date!
:gun: my rifle is not illegal, it's just undocumented... :gun:

Well, at the very least I would bring a shovel....I was thinking that when we "air down" to 10-12 psi we should "float" nicely.
But, a set of chains or cables might b a good thing to have, just in case the CHP has an issue with us on the way up the mountain.

Sounds like fun, if the date works out, I'll be there.
I've been told I have rocks in my head.

So, has a date or possible date been decided upon?

Got to plan on whether or not I have my kids w/me or if it's my g-friend and I or all four of us....

Absoltely NO chance of it being New Years day. Only thing I like less than wheeling with a hangover is pistol shooting with a hangover

Ok, as far as a date - it will most likely be the weekend of the 12th (we're teaching a class on the 5th, and the 19th is Steph's birthday)

You're going to need at least a rear locker, depending on how much snow we get between now and then, locked both ends would be better. Some decent ground clearance. Bear in mind the snowy sections of this trail drop off _severly_ downslope, and the trail was pretty rutted out before the snow hot.

Positive anchor points front and rear - no exceptions. Every rig has a CB - no exceptions.

Chains if you want - I haven't owned a set in almost 10 years. If we hit a spot where I think I need to chain up 37's - I'm turning around.

The weekend of the 12th is set aside to wheel!

                      Front and rear locker-check
                      cb-check
                      front & rear tow points-check

The last time I wheeled in the snow chains would have been nice-there was a layer of ice under the 1/2" of snow that the wheels would just spin on--I think that in that instance chains would have helped.

Geebo, you might still be ok. This isn't going to be a "we're gonna make it to the top! no matter what" run.

Sounds like a good plan. I really don't want to take a sleigh ride in the Jeep down a cliff. If theres room I like to come along. I'm locked front and rear, anchor points front and rear, CB, and a new winch (just in case).
                            Check out .

It sounds like there may be quite a turn out for this event!
