Yeah we were thinking about that, might just bar bar style taps come out the top of a "mini" fridge instead.

What did you guys use as a brew kettle? I was thinking like a 4 gallon turkey pot would work...

Some of the brew kettles ive seen go for like $250+! theres no way im spending that much on a freakin pot! hahah

get together with a couple friends, buy a keg of your beer 'o choice, drink said beer, and don't return the keg. you'll have to put some fittings on the keg, and clean it with brewers detergent, but otherwise it's the cheapest way to go, and the most fun... if you do it right you might even make money on the deal!

Yes I'm a homebrewer with a 20 gallon system, all grain. If I ever get back to it I'll post some pictures.

Cheers, Black And Tan TJ (the name fits)

Hey Kodiak, two of my favorite things! Chili and Beer. I used a 5 gallon stainless stock pot from Smart and Final. Keep in mind, you don't have to "cook" 5 gallons of wort, you can add chilled water/ice after brewing to bring the level to 5 gallons.

yeah you only need like 2.5 or so gallons to actually "cook" the wort correct? I figured id rather have a little more pot then be right at the brim with the wort.

If you can do a full boil, if not make sure to use some kind of filtered water (Yeah, Arrowhead, )(pun) Most cold tap water has some kind of bacteria that may leave a flavor in your brew. Another good idea is test our hot water temp (should be above 130deg. too) for rinsing sanitized items. Less contact the better once it's cooled.

Been quite a while since I was home brewing, good times for sure.

Realisticaly I wont be brewing again anytime soon and the equipment is just taking up room, sooo...

Several 5 gallon kegs, Steel Co2 tank, and several taps, jockey box and misc brew plumbing.

All of it has been sitting in the garage for years and needs a good cleaning/tune-up, but hell, it's free

Dang, that's the best deal around. I've received much free stuff over the years for brewing, it can get expensive and kegging is the a good way to go. Think I have about 12 or so. CO2 bottles are also good for on-board air.

The one thing about Japan that was good for the brew was the water, they don't add anything to it! no flouride, no chlorine, it was like brewing with bottled water, after we boiled it off there was some mineral scale in the pot, but the brews were allways crisp, and we didn't have anyproblems with bugs in the beer even though Sasebo has a really damp climbate...
