  • Dyno'd my AEV Hemi Rubicon

Well, this past Thursday was student Dyno Day & I got to dyno the Jeep.

    To the Wheels:

    230 Hp
    252 Tq

We are guessing around a 40% loss through whole drivetrain. 20% through auto tranny itself & 20-30% through the TC, DS & D60 axle with 4.88 gears.
But as you can hear, it seems that we kept hitting a speed limmiter, so the HP & TQ numbers are probably higher. Every run we did (3 in all) all felt like it hit a wall of power once we got to about 105-110 mph and the rpms were only at like 3500-4000 rpm...redline is 5600-5800 rpm.

Here is a link to one of the movies we took...in "D" & gunning it after reaching 2000 rpm in 3rd gear:

I have one even better that is 100 mb, but need to figure out how to chop it up & shorten it into 2 movies. One will be from a dead stop in "D" & another in 2nd gear shift position.

No it isn't any hardcore rocks that you are used to here in AZ, but I'm just getting back into off-roading & am getting used to my set-up. FYI, I don't plan to do any 4+ trails yet...sticking to 3+ for now.

Well, lets get together some time and go play around in FJ. There are some great trails that you will LOVE!!!! I'm not talking about Axle Alley or H2H....

Upper Woodpecker, Martinez Mine loop, JackHandle, etc.

I have gotton basically stock S-10 pickups through each of those 3 trails (and a couple more). They all have some cool optional obsticals, but can be made pretty easy if you want them to be....the scenery up at the top of the Martinez Mine loop is awesome......
