I wanna go. I have a XR650R that I don't ride enough because most of my riding buddies have either quit riding or moved away. I go out solo sometimes but I miss riding with people. *sigh*

Well come on out and play then!!! I think Josh is going to be out of town this weekend, so I'll probably be looking for someone to head out locally with . . . maybe Rowher or something. Hit me up if you'd like to come out. Pretty much sticking to the easy stuff until I get some more seat time. I got bit by the bug and am eager to ride whenever I can so just hit me up if you are itching to ride and want some company...usually working M-F but weekends are usually open for riding.

Cool. Either Sat or Sun work for me. I work second shift so I can't make it to Roher too early. 10am sounds good.

That sounds like it should work . . . I usually try to get out a bit earlier to beat the heat but it hasn't been too bad lately. Let me see what's on tap for this weekend . . . but I'm sure we can arrange something one of the two days. How are your riding skills . . . I'm pretty much a noob, only having the bike for a couple weeks and not having riden for about 25 years . . . so I'm pretty much sticking with the bunny trails for a little while until I get more seat time/experience . . . figured I'd give you fair warning in case you are a master rider looking to tear up the tough stuff!

Anybody else up for a weekend ride???

Yeah, let me know what day works best for you. I'm open.

I'm not really a noob but I'm not a Billy badass either, despite my name being Billy.

I like to go fast sometimes but I always keep an eye on my riding buddy. I won't leave you behind or push you to do something you're not comfortable with. Mostly I just cruise the single track and open it up on the straights.

I can get out there at 9am

Maybe next month I'll be able to get out and join y'all. I'm like Schmo, just getting back into it. My MX days were a long time ago (think 125 Elsinore's)

Alright . . . the plan is to meet at the first Staging area on the Sierra HWY side of Rowher at 9am on Saturday. So far it's BillyGoat, PoolSide, and Schmo . . . all others are welcome too . . . plenty of Jeep trails out there too so no need for guys with 4 wheels to feel left out . . . we can always hang out at the top of the hill! I'm going to meet up with PoolSide in the morning and we'll ride from his place so I don't have to drag my little trailer over the rough dirt road to the Staging area at 1 mile an hour. So look for a coulpe dudes on KTMs.

I've been talking about bikes so much lately, my 12 year old daughter asked me, "Dad, when you get your motorcycle, will you teach me how to drive it?" Unfortunately, my motorcycle will outweigh her 4 fold, and the saddle will come to the top of her tummy!

So, I did as most (all?) dads would do...told her we'd buy her a dirt bike, then we can ride on the dirt together. She spent the next several hours doing google searches to pick out the gear she wants (typical girl!)

Turned out to be one bummer of a day . . . got to my buddies house early this morning to meet up and ride over to Rowher to meet up with Billy . . . we were planning to throw a new front sprocket on which should take maybe 10-15 minutes . . . well that's if you don't break the bolt in the process. Spent the day back and forth to the shop a couple of times and having to stress after they called after about four hours to tell me to come back as they couldn't get the bolt out and telling me it may cost almost 800 bucks depending on what all they have to do to get it out . . . oh yeah and had to drive out to Palmdale to pick up a new bolt as the shop didn't have one in stock. The shop finally called me at about 4 pm after finally getting the bolt out . . . thank God they didn't have to rip into my motor after all. So at the end of the day, I spent over a hundred bucks and a tank of gas in the Jeep driving all over and never even made it to the trail. Going to try again tomorrow . . . going to be heading out early in the morning and hoping to be to Rowher before 8:30 ready to ride. If anybody wants to meet up, the more the merrier.

*** Sorry Billy . . . felt horrible having to bail on you like that, glad I got in touch with so you didn't just show up and wait for me, but it still really sucked . . . I felt bad having to flake on the run. I hope you made it out and got the bike running better. Hit me up if you want to give it another try tomorrow or in the future. I'm really not the flakey type . . . Really

                              That's cool Joe. Stuff happens.

I put a whole bottle of Seafoam in the tank but it never cleared up. I just rode from the first staging area to the third staging area several times and was never able to get above quarter throttle. And it actually started getting worse. I'll go pull it apart right now and see if I can fix it.

Just got the carb rebuilt. Runs a lot better but still has some mid throttle lag. I wish I knew more about carbs...

Ya'll going to the same place? First staging area or somewhere else?

Edit: It still runs bad, I'm out.

                                I don't get it. Frustrated.
