what all does one do when they are 'mastering'? i assume you take the final mixes (from the studio) and transfer them to 'master's for duplication?
it's like in Office Space:
"why can't the customers just call the engineers directly?"
"i'm a people person, dammit! I have people skills!"

actually, I'm a restoration engineer for film and tv audio.
trying to make a decent living in the music buisness isn't a lot of fun.
