            what all does one do when they are 'mastering'? i assume you take the final mixes (from the studio) and transfer them to 'master's for duplication?


            it's like in Office Space:
            "why can't the customers just call the engineers directly?"

            "i'm a people person, dammit! I have people skills!"

            anyway...

              basically yes. you create a duplication master from the studio mixes with a bit of eq/compression on the individual songs if needed. adjust overall levels. song order. blah, blah, blah... really, your trying to make other peoples crappy mixes sound good.
