I will say that having the 16-35mm on my camera almost all the time, I dont use my 10-22 as much, but its still SOOOO much wider than the 16-35 that it is always within reach in my camera bag.
I've never shot a similar scene with each lens for comparison. Here is the closest that I can think of:
10-22 at 10mm, F3.5

16-35, at 19mm, F22

Here is another 16mm shot with the 16-35mm lens (F13, ISO 400 - it was really dark and overcast due to nearby fires)
