I ran John Bull with Elusive a while back. He's got a sweet rig fer sher!
I haven't seen any pics of your project in a while, how's it coming?

moved it forward. I took the tube between the frame rails out and sunk the winch between them. to get it all to fit the winch is a couple inches off center.



I also moved the coil buckets back on the axle. I was afraid the shocks would hit, so I moved them to the LCA.



we'll see how it all works out at the hammers this weekend.

I just stretched the front of my TJ 11" and it cost me a grand total of $112

Thats the beauty of the Jeep....make it fit to your needs/pocket book.

here are a few updated pictures of this stretch.

here is a shot of the truss/upper control arm mount. it has the u bolts for redundancy.

a couple of nice looking welds on those poly performance mounts.

notice how parallel the drag link and trac bar are.

the steering box was pushed forward a bit more than 2" and rotated upward a bit to regain full lock to lock steering, and utilize a flat pitman arm.

this mount puts forces on a lot of different areas to share the pressure. it gets the tubes on either side, and the front of the cast housing.

here is a shot of the upper control arm mount to the frame.

well, the front of this thing is finished except for redoing the hydraulic hoses to the ram. it is now painted, and we are well into the work on the back of the jeep. this is going to be some more fun. we have a lot of cool things in mind for the way the back comes together. more pics to come.

If your spending all this time and money, why did you choose not to go with full hydraulic steering ? I am not criticizing, I am just wondering as this project has sparked my interest to do the same to my YJ in the future.

i have no need for it at this time. i do drive this back and forth to the trail, and have been very happy with the performance, and reliability of this steering set up both on and off the trail.

yes i will. "twinkie" in tow. great effort has gone into the design and construction of this thing to keep it safe on road and tough off road.
i have added the dual rate sway bar to the front, and a currie anti rock to the back. these should keep it stable both on and off road. the brakes and steering are both much heavier duty than stock, yet maintain full functionality on road with a good streetable feel.

having not put it on the road since doing many of these mods, i am talking out my ass, but that is its goal.

thanks for the compliment, rat.
i think i'll have to learn to drive all over again with the extended wheel base, and the way coils work. i think i'll be able to pick it up though. i am staying on 35" tires, so it wont be made too easy. just different.
it has been waaay too long since i have been on the trail.
