  • coilover stretch

    Well, it is finally started.
I am going to be doing a coilover suspension swap on my jeep with the help of some friends. (thanks Blaine)

the parts list planned thus far is as follows:
    • Fox 12" coilovers
    • Poly performance reat tj install kit
    • Currie Johnie joints
    • 2" DOM links
    • GenRight gas tank for the rear stretch
    • ORO front sway bar
    • Currie anti rock rear sway bar
    • Eibach springs

i am sure the list will be quite a bit longer before it is all said and done, but this is the start.
today was all about cutting off the mounts, and cleaning up some space to get the new stuff in there.

i am hoping to get the 99-100 inches after the stretch.

some of what you are seeing in these pics are past mods.

i have the WJ knuckle conversion on there as well as LEE steering box, ram assist, and some other non-stock junk under there.

the steering is chrome moly tubing with some heavy duty TRE's.

most of the other things will stay as they are. the dana 30 is about as polished as one can get, and i have been happy with it thus far.

    the 30 has:
    • superior super 30 kit w/ ARB
    • Wj knuckles and brake calipers
    • LEE manufacturing steering ram
    • warn small hub conversion
    • CTM u joints
    • Chrome moly tie rod and drag link

well, i have continued on my quest for all of the best parts for this build up.
i have just gotten the fuel tank issues resolved.

i will be running the Genright gas tank in the COMP variety.

this is a 14~ gallon aluminum tank with a steel skid.
this particular one is a one-off, so it will be difficult for those of you loking into doing this for your yj to get one of these.

A big Thank you to Robert at Genright for helping me to get the parts that i need for this project. You have been a great help, and have provided great customer service thus far.

more pics to come when i get things moving.

Only see red "x's" there Erik.

If you're doing this at home, give me a call. I _think_ I can find my way over to your house if I use the GPS

Dang, that mod is very high on my WISH list. Best of luck to you. If you don't mind, maybe you can document the process with some pics and keep us posted on the site?

Thanks Erik. I look forward to learning from your process, and asking for your advice when I do mine (with your permission). In fact, I too would be willing to lend a hand if you need it.
