Depends on how you like to wheel.
I used to have a toy with big-O Muds on it, they worked fairly well off road, and lasted forever. big-o replaces your tire if you trash it, or tear the sidewall off or whatnot.
Currently I have Mickey Thompson Baja Claws on my Cj-5, they kick ass off road, but I'm not sure how long they'll last on asphalt.

I am not a tire expert. I am running BFG's on my heep. I like em off road and they do quite well on the road with no road noise. They are 285/75/16....or equivalent to a 32'' x 9'' or there abouts."If you have significant difficulty here, dont go any further....it only gets worse".

well...I had the Big 0 Muds on mine, and tore up two sidewalls on Calico one year
I now have GoodYear MTR's. They are awesome in the rocks, I can honestly say they changed my wheeling experience.2002 TJ on 35s a bit of lift with some stuff
