  • wife can't reach clutch

giving the warden a 90yj for xmas. the seat is to high for her to fully depress the clutch. i was thinking drill out the front pivots and shorten the bars, then reassemble with nuts bolts and washers. wadaya think? open to any suggestions. Rich.
But can we SURVIVE 2 more years?

You can always secure a block of wood to the clutch pedal. If you lower the seat, will she be able to see where she's going?

Can you move the seat forward a few inches?

How about a pillow behind her back ?

How bout getting another Warden with long legs... :0

Or, you take the seat mount brackets off, trim the botom of the mount and reinstall. It's not too difficult. As a matter of fact I think there is a thread here on MJR about that.

Yeah but often times much less rewarding . . . or so I've heard!!! Maybe you could get her a special shoe like the folks that have one short leg use just for her left foot so she could reach the pedal . . . or some stripper shoes with the huge platforms might work!!!

you boy's are really on the ball, took Rogers advice, pillow with huge zip tie under seat cover. She's out test driving now, also missing the rubber that goes on the pedal. when i get that it should help also. Merry xmas to all!!!! Rich.

I think I would put a spacer on the pedal, you don't have to use a block of wood, you could bolt on a piece of square tube or cut a wedge out of the clutch arm and bend it up a bit and then weld it in place. I wouldn't move the seat down, that can mess with all kinds of stuff. you might even be able to put a spacer on the firewall to bring the pedal out a bit. :dunno:
