        over a year. The stock 30 will handle the 35's. Even at JV. I know people that run there with stock 30's. Remember the 30 joint is the same as a 44.

          Yup. I see and hear about as many 44 joints going as I do d30's. But I hear about alot more d30 R&P's blowing up than I do d44's.

                  you arent the first person i have heard say that... so i'm quite sure it is possible. that would be a clear indication of "upgrade time" hopefully a u joint or warn hub would go first.

                          Bought a bone stock TJ Sport 8 months ago have piece by piece done the following, it is my daily driver:

                          Dana 44 Rear: added Detroit Locker and 4:56s
                          Dana 30 Frt: added Detroit Locker and 4:56s
                          5 speed with NP231:
                          added AA SYE kit and custom drive shaft
                          Tera 2LO kit (I really like this upgrade)
                          Disk brakes all around

                          4" Superlift
                          Superlift adjustable track bar
                          Superlift Rockrunner lower control arms
                          Superlift Steering stabilizer
                          Superlift quick discos
                          Superlift TrueSpeed calibrator

                          33" BFGs on
                          15X8 Mickey Thompson Outlaw 2 rims

                          Warn protection:
                          Dana 44 diff skid
                          Dana 30 diff skid
                          Steering box skid
                          Rocker skids

                          Tera oil pan skid

                            89 yj had it for about 4.5 years
                            Started out as a stock sahara, then I flopped it, and it got a paint job ala Krylon. Got bored with that and painted it ala OSH hardware gloss black. Now on with the list of mods...
                            swapped out puegot for a TF999 auto ( I love the auto)
                            auxiliray tranny cooler, and stock radiator cooler for tranny
                            Deep pan for tranny
                            High angle driveline SYE and CV shaft
                            Ford 8.8 rear axle with 4.56's and a trac loc (soon to have an eaton E locker)
                            HP D30 with 4.56's and a lockright, with 297x shafts
                            radio Shack TRC-446 CB with 4' firestik antenna
                            pioneer DEH-P2500 head unit
                            Pioneer 6.5" 3 ways in the soundbar
                            No back seat
                            Canyon city rear tire carrier
                            4" suspension and 1.25" body lift
                            35" MTR's on AR 767's
                            custom grill hoop and tube fenders
                            Rear fenders cut to accept TJ flares, although I don't run any flares.
                            OBA using stock 1989 YJ AC and all kilby parts
                            Full tools and lots of spare parts
                            Full custom roll cage
