Hello I just signed up for this site because it looks like the best info is here and thats what I need. I am about to buy a 78 CJ 7 and I had some questions about it. It has a 350 in it with a full fiberglass body and all. 35" tires and I am not sure on the lift. My question is that the rear axles are chained to the frame is that ok? I mean they are bolted up normally but there is a chain spot welded to the axle then hooked to the frame? Is this normal and if so why. I have never seen this before so I thought I would ask before I buy something thats more work then I want. Thanks!

my diff is limited to the frame with a strap, same idea as the chain. saves drive shafts as stated above.
