    • I relocated the rear view mirror from the windshield, to the a pillar cage bar, it was dark by time I finished, I'll take a photo tomorrow. Hopefully it will vibrate less After that, I'll be making a CB antenna mount.... as soon as I get my press brake assembled. haha! I have all of this week to do a bunch of stuff around the house/jeeps, hopfully I have time to get the press brake done. A friend of mine is letting me use his garage and 220 power, so I'll bring my welder over there to weld the thick stuff in the press brake.

Drove the willys again several times around tow today, I still can't believe how much nicer the ride is with the new seats :-D haha!

        • here we are along with my temporary fuel setup until I decide what I want to do. I'm leaning towards having a custom made fuel cell that will have an angle to it which matches the angle of the seats, so it can be pushed up real close to them with a minimum of space wasted. And my first bracket, for the mirror. And you can kind of see the windshield wiper in that photo too, it's mounted upside down, and is a PERFECT fit below the bar, I mean perfect. haha!

Got some stuff I'll be doing today. Checking the transmission fluid, seeing what's binding the overdrive shifter, the throttle is sticking a little bit (doesn't close all the way when you let off) so I'll see about fixing that. Also reconnecting the parking brake, it was sticking real bad before so I just disconnected it. I'd like to get it working again. And maybe I'll pull the trigger on some taller springs.

Got some lasagna cooking in the crock pot MMMmmm

            • Got my first sewing lesson tonight from a friend, haha! I may have a bikini top on this thing sooner than I expected

I'm going to rivet some snaps to the top of the windshield frame, and use that as the way to hold the top. I did a few tests in some scrap metal, pop riveting them in seems to be more secure than the ones that screw in.

              • Looking good. Looks much better painted. Can't wait to see the top you make for it.

                • I'm putting new springs, shackles, and shocks on the willys this weekend.

I wonder, would it be worth drilling a hole about an inch farther forward on the spring perches of the rear axle, so that the axle sets 1 inch farther back? During full flex this would reduce any possible rubbing of the fender well that was cut and moved back.

Worth doing? Think the factory driveshaft would still be long enough?

I moved the rear soft brake line to the front, plenty long enough for the taller springs. And this weekend I'll go down to the local NAPA and have them make me a longer line for the rear.
