That's some nice work on the cage and fender wells, Kurt.
Good to have nice neighbors. I got turned into the city once for doing fab work.

I've been fortunate enough with the neighbors as well. Almost every time I'm working on my jeeps, or on furniture projects cutting wood or metal with loud tools, one of the neighbors comes by and wants to check out what I'm doing. I think they like that I'm actually working in the garage. I'm lucky to have nice neighbors! However, I do stop any loud work as soon as it starts to get dark out. So I guess they appreciate that

On weeknights I knock off the loud stuff around 6 or 7. On weekends I will go until 9. But I keep the garage door closed as much as possible.

Almost done. Work has been taking most of my time. Couple of hours a night right now is all I have to work on the cage. Should be finished Wednesday. I thought I would have tomorrow to finish it but now have to visit a ritzy movie star resort in San Diego. The rich people need me, I feel so special...

The area circled in the picture was modified. Due to the thin metal of the wheel wells I changed the 4x4 mounting plates to 10"x25"x3/16" plates that cover the entire top of the wheel well. I'll have more pics when I finish the install tomorrow. There was so much corrosion on the tub I really had to reinforce every connection point. Double plates at all tub connections, 3/16" plates on the wheel wells, grade 5 bolts every where. Replace sheet metal at almost every corner.

I finished all of the little details today and the job is complete as for my part. Now Daniel gets to go to work welding o n tabs and junk and then painting it. The gas tank is temporarily installed just to get it to drive onto the trailer for delivery, which will be tomorrow. In the rain. Go figure. Pics aren't the best (cell phone) but you get the idea.

I primed all the welds so they don't rust in this humidity. I also sprayed the inner fender wells with a rubberized under coat to seal the sheet metal and prevent more rust from forming. This stuff stinks bad, but it looks good. Gives a nice finished look to the fenders. I'll get a few more pics up later.

I think that is one of the best looking flattie cages I have seen. Nice.

Those are some serious mounting plates!
