let me know how your 5 point works out! That will be next on mine, but since I don't offroad mine much, I'll probably wait just a bit to decide what type of latch and stuff to use

no, I don't have any belts yet, just the lap belt that was already in the cj. I've not purchased a shoulder belt, or a harness yet.Redneck Driveway Fab

If you are going to use a shoulder harness with retractor I can make a mounting plate that mounts in the stock location. No problem. We need to get the roll cage design smoothed out a little first.Resistance Off Road

I'm not sure how thrifty you want to get but I have a bunch of shoulder harness/ lap belts from my 15 passenger van you can have them if you need a couple.

got a photo of some of those belts, Mike? If they are short enough to use, I'd give them a try!Redneck Driveway Fab

Finally, after spending so much time on sheet metal work (still more to come) I got to start on the roll bar. The front driver side body mount has rusted away and been patched a few times. I cut away the the rust and found the Teak wood still in fair conditin, but the floor pan had been patched with fiberglass and, under the floor, the hat channel had been patched with cellophane, fiberglass resin, silicone sealer and Saran rap. Oh and a tuna fish can lid ( I don't know that it is from a tuna fish can, but it is an old can top for sure)

Not much base metal left here. I'll have to make sandwich plates for these areas, to go with the sandwich wrap...

Daniel,
The area in the circle is really bad. This is the driver side. The step is rotten and is attached with Bondo. The Bondo cracked when I started digging around to clean this mess up. I'm going to replace the hat channel with a piece of c channel and then sandwich the channel with the lower plate of the sandwich for the roll cage. After all this is done the step is going to need some work. Sorry, I'm trying not do totally destroy your Jeep but she needs a lot of TLC when it comes to rust and rot removal. I am leaving the cat food can lid under the fiberglass for sentimental reasons...
