So I am getting ready to empty my pockets and since I need to repalce my rear spider gears anyway I was looking at ARB lockers and came across this........Any input from the experts out there??? And suggestions on what gears to re-gear to???

I'm not an expert, but from what I've read, if you have the auto-trans then 4.56 or the manual 4.88s. Not sure about the price, my jeep already has lockers and until they give out I won't be lookin for any I think the gears would run you about 5 -600 bucks (F & R together) but I don't know about the price on the lockers. IMHO ARB is a good locker though. Hope that might help a little.

just looked at the quadratec catalog...

      ARB lockers 720 x 2 = $1440

      ARB compressor $ 240

      r&p 150 x 2= $ 300

      _______________

      total $1980

Just say you want free shipping(Erik always does). Another plus, if you order out of state, you don't pay sales tax.

seriously though, if you want to go the Quadratec route, Let myself or Nailer know... I'm sure we could get you free shipping.

oh yeah, one other thing... be prepared to spend around $350 per axle for the install. Gear work is not cheap.

ooops, one last thing... I think 4.88 is the way to go if you've got the 4cyl.

Hi Brian and Erik thanx for the help, I will definately PM you next weekend when I get all the cash flow squared away for this project. As I said last month I am going to drop about 5-6 k into it to make it a decent set up so I can hit some trails with you folks. You guys gave me alot of good feedback as to what can be done thanks again.
What are some good places that would install these for me?? I really hate dealing with alot of the idiots that seem to be around now days.
              Thanx again guys!!! Your awesome.

Some how the word " Boom" is not associated with good things.........you mean even with Air lockers I would go boom?? that doesnt sound good to me. But please edumacate me as it has been too many years away and my brain is filled with cobwebs. I like to learn thank you

ARB's are known for not blowing up when you break an axle. But D35 axle shafts are not the strongest. Unless you enjoy changing axle shafts on the trail, an upgraded rearend might be a better first step. The Ford 8.8 is a nice easy upgrade.
