Jesse, I'll have my 3 kids too. Steve (in the cherokee) is coming up from Riverside. He'll meet us at the dam about 8:30.
I've been told I have rocks in my head.

Part 1 (2N17X and Pilot Rock Trails)

                Participants:
Paul (Paul B), Jesse (Kodiak Spirit), Julie (Desert Jewel), Dennis (Victor Valley 4WD Club), Steve (VV4WD Club), Craig (VV4WD Club) and myself. Mitch (Great 88) rode with Desert Jewel because his rig is being repaired.

Craig’s gray Willys led the way up the gatekeeper on 2N17X, followed by Julie’s (Desert Jewel) green TJ, Jesse’s (Kodiak Spirit) red YJ, Paul’s (Paul B) white XJ, and Steve’s black XJ.

Dennis’ red CJ on the gatekeeper:

                Jesse (Kodiak Spirit):

                Dennis:

                The infamous 4-way hill:

I think that Jesse and Paul were the only ones who attempted the “extra credit” (Craig was already at the top when I got there, so I don't know which way he went); but they along with everyone else ended up taking the bypass.

We ran 2N17X in less than an hour, and then continued east on Pilot Rock Trail (2N33) toward Dishpan. Enroute, we played on some of the extra credit obstacles. This is Dennis’ CJ:

Paul tried it next, and everyone was surprised with the result:

The rest of the trail was uneventful. I’ll do a separate post of the Dishpan Spring trail report because I have to upload the videos first.

Thanks all, we had a blast. Other than the little gasoline incident of course. Cool video of me busting my window Russ. I new the high line was a little risky but didn't expect it to go quite like that. Guess I'll be heading junk yard.

Day started cool and never really did get hot.

5 of us met at Jack-in-the-crack and then met another 2 at the dam. All seven made 2N17X up to pilot rock no problem, xcept for that one window, (but that doesnt count, its not drivetrain related)

One tire plugged at the slab, and then onto the pinnicle staging area. We were early 'cause I wrote the trip wrong, and so we stopped briefly had a snack and went on to Dishpan.

Craig picked up lots of trash at the staging area and on the trail, we all picked up some, but Craig really was ticked off and picked up the most.

All was good untill we reached the waterfall, we had a bit of a traffic jam there, so we all had lunch changed a fuel pump, tightened up some wires and let a starter cool and then we watched a couple of fools wreck their junk and get in our way, and then a full size 4X RAM ran up and around and got stuck so Paul towed him up and spotted him out.

We all made it up, and Russ made us all humble doing the waterfall like it was nothing in his open diff 5spd sleeper.. sorry Russ I realize now that I prob called you all kinds of names all day and none of them Russ! Aired up at Craigs had dinner at Chevo's and that was it!

Good to meet Russ and Great88 I had a good time.

Thanks again for the pics, breakfast, and dinner! It was nice to have a passenger for the day! And even more fun being able to show you what these rigs really can do!
