Thanks for the advice everybody and looking forward to meeting everyone on Sunday! I talked with a couple of the places recommended here at MJR today and am going tomorrow to check out a couple of shops & stuff for my Rubi . . . if you have a chance, throw some more advice my way . . . new thread "2 inch lift ?s" under Short & Stocky!
Hey ReconZJ . . . did you luck out and just need a new radiator cap? That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.

I don't think that did the trick, but can't tell for sure since it hasn't been hot enough here. But I'll be there anyway - just might not have a/c. It did fine in Moab last month while out on the trails, I just had to watch it on the highway coming back home.
See everyone on Sunday morning!

ReconZJ- glad to hear you'll be able to make it on Sunday. If you could bring the handheld, that would be sweet! I'm really trying to get the discos and lift ASAP as I'm heading to Big Bear next Sunday and am not sure I'll be able to get the CB tomorrow. BTW . . . what's a good CB as I'll be looking for that too soon . . . are the handhelds a good option or are the old school ones better? That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.

The hand-held that I have is a cheapie that I got free years ago from an extinct website called Rebates.com. It's good enough as a spare, or for short distances between vehicles.
Sandy & I have the Cobra 75 WSXT. Everything is in the hand mike, with a little metal box mounted under the dash for the antenna & power. The mike cord plugs in to the box; when not in use, I unplug it and store it in the console.
Definitely, any regular CB is better than the handheld I have, but there is at least one CB, a Uniden 2 in 1, that's a handheld or sits in a cradle. You can take it outside the jeep when you spot someone, and then put it back in the cradle when you take off. It's really nice - I'd check that one out if I were you.Gary

I've never been to this trail or area before so I'm guessing that we have about 40 or 50 miles to the trail head from our meeting place. You can probably do a search. It's in the Mojave desert east of Bakersfield, southwest of Ridgecrest and west of Randsburg.Sandy Reshes

Well, since I haven't run this trail, I can't say for sure, but my guess is that you'll be fine. You just won't have the added articulation in the front. I think I read that on most obstacles there are several lines, so we can help you pick the right ones if you want that assistance.
Sandy ran Rowher twice in his bone-stock Rubi, without any problems.Gary
