  • Fun In The Desert XVI

Fun In The Desert is going to be one of the best events this year! We will be having one of the biggest raffles ever and will have vendor displays. Newly appointed committee has received 3 winches and 5 more on the way! The raffle list is growing and growing! Sounds like we will be having well over 250 rigs with multi-scheduled runs (more advanced rigs will go first so everyone can get thru the trails in a timely manner).

Here is the link for the registration:

Here is the link for the trail requirements:

Hope you can come out and wheel with us!!

Fisher Mtn. For those that are not ready for the hammers or want to go on a easier run. Most vehicles can do it with a moderate lift ,under armor, 32s and a rear locker or limited slip or 35s with out locker if you dare. The beginning of the trail is a 3+ for about 1 mile than it gets easier and sightseeing over all the valleys in the area. we also cross the landers fault line and can see it in both directions. near the end of the trail you can split the group up for the more equipped vehicles to make a run at the original jackhammer its a 3+ with a 45 degree climb down the side of the mountain only the better equipped vehicles
will be allowed to do this part of the run.

I might look at doing that one if I go...
If we aren't supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

The last time I did jack, it was certianly more than a 3+
right now aftershock and clawhammer are the 2 easiest hammer trails.
outer limits and wrecking ball are both harder than usual.

Good to know for those of us who don't want to tear up our rigs, or still have a D35! Thanks!

With the capabilities (or lack thereof) of my Jeep, this actually sounds tempting! May have to try to make this one! :thumbs_up

I'm not saying your Jeep is too small. These trails were built for the more extreme Jeep enthusiasts and that is what our club is famous for. You'll need to get a bigger lift and lockers to do any of the "Hammer" trails, or at least a rear locker to do Fisher Mountain. We also offer a "stock" vehicle run on Rattlesnake Canyon for those that don't want to risk the damage on the Hammers.

The Desert Jewel hasn't been on any of the Hammers as of yet. Last year I lead Rattlesnake and would like to start on the Hammers this year. Depending on the turn-out and if I am needed back at camp during the runs or not, I may attempt Fisher Mountain this year.

I don't have a rear locker and would like to do the Fisher Mountain run, you don't think it'd be possible? Just ask BobO about needing lockers...

from those of you that have done this event before does it seem like it takes forever to get through the trail just because there is so many rigs? even if you split them up and go in different groups, with 250 rigs there has to be quite a bit going in one group.
