  • Devils Canyon Stage Trail

Today without major break downs we ran the complete trail. The 2.5 miles took 4.5 hrs including lunch Break. For sure the vehicle limit cannot be very much to complete this. 33's will struggle.\

Heres that ole picture again. I always think it cool to be in the same place. I dont think anyone has been here in a vehicle since the road was re-routed. Border Patrol verified no one been in it since they been scounting.
They wondered how we did it. We showed them the old picture of the trail and they certainly were surprised! They too thought it was pretty cool.

Here we are. I think the road is 20ft higher.

To complete this was a 3 month undertaking. 4 runs, one in the rain. Lots of body and mechanical damage. I have only made it over this wall 1 time without winching or trail building. No different today stuck again!

There was a thread about rockers. Heres Nora this is just before sliding off and dropping on the left side smack on the rockers...they paid for themselfs today. It was only a 2 ft drop but you sure could hear the bang echo through the canyon.

Heres Steve hes going to try and go around the rock which indented my door on the last run.

Nice pics Britain. I will have to try this trail once I get some 35” tires. Are you going to be able to make the IDTT run this upcoming Saturday?

Having done the stage trail in parts on 4 earlier excursions we made short work of most of the obstacles that were thought to be “impossible”. In spite of getting through quickly, there was some body damage early on. At the first waterfall, Vern smashed up his license plate and latch mechanism for his tire carrier. At the same place nora, driving Stormtrooper slammed the full weight of the jeep into a large rock. The rock sliders saved the day. Later on I was feeling a little daring and tried the obstacle that two weeks earlier scratched the heck out of vern’s door. I had similar results, but luckily I had already removed my door. The rock came pretty far into the passenger compartment and made me a little nervous. We finished the entire trail in about 4 hours. We both had 35’s, long arm lifts, and lockers. There are no bypasses on the most difficult sections. Body damage is highly likely. Breakage is likely. I expect a group of 5 similarly equipped vehicles could make it in a day. My wife remarked at the fact that today is April Fool’s day.

Below is a picture of my jeep trying to get around a rock that insists on coming inside my vehicle.

          Rock

I don't remember going onlong side that rock unless it is on the last section I haven't run yet. I seem to remembe taking a different line then Vern a few times.

            Nice!

looks like a pretty unforgiving trail, those are some cool pic of your jeeps doing some trails that most people would think are impassable.:thumbs_up
